Children’s Ministry

Edmonds United Methodist Church is a place where children, youth, and families experience the living God in worship, relationships, and service. Our faith community seeks to nurture collective growth in love and compassion.

Children are ALWAYS welcome in our faith community - in worship, in fellowship, and in service. There are books, activities, and even space to play in the Narthex. All are welcome!

And . . . If you need some more wiggle room, our Nursery is available!

Sunday School during Worship

All children are invited to participate in Sunday School!

What to expect

Families will begin in worship together and will be present for the Welcome, Call to worship (an opening prayer) and our Opening song, then all children will be invited to the front of the church to participate in a “Children’s Message.”

After that, our Sunday School teachers and Director of Family Ministries will accompany the children to our Sunday School room where they will engage with the stories of the people of God. Students will be accompanied back to the Sanctuary to rejoin their families before the end of service.

It is up to a family if their children are ready and wanting to participate in Sunday School - many children choose to participate starting around 3 or 4 years old through elementary or middle school.

Our Nursery is available for infants to 4-year-olds!

Our Nursery is an inviting and safe space for the youngest in our church family, staffed by loving and creative people who believe that play & naps are opportunities for faith formation. Our Nursery workers are background checked and First-Aid Certified.

Equipped with changing tables, developmentally stimulating toys, and anything else your little one might need, this is more than a place for kids to play. Intentional and age-appropriate lesson plans are carefully crafted for each week.

We can’t wait to meet your little ones and welcome them into this beautiful community.

The Nursery is located in the northwest corner of the church and upon sign in, you’ll be given a pager that will buzz if your child needs you.
