This is more than just a youth group. It's a family. Every 7th-12th grader who walks through the door is welcomed and embraced, no matter what. Our youth group is also a place for refuge, where we can take time out of our busy lives to rest, be ourselves and know that we will be supported for who we are. God is a big part of what we do, too. Because this is a place where God meets us, in how we treat each other, in how we have fun together, in how we worship together, and in how we serve others who need it most. We regularly engage in service work here at Edmonds United Methodist Church, and with organizations in the greater Seattle area. We hold fast to the Methodist principles to Love, Grow and Serve. Our youth group meets every Sunday (except for Holidays), from 6:00pm-8:30pm in our Youth Hall. We always begin with a group meal and announcements, then we move on to thematic activities and games for the rest of the evening! Come and join us!
Every Sunday evening (Almost, anyway), we gather together in the youth hall to eat, play, worship, and serve together. We figure that most youth already know about God, but we really want everyone in this group to really experience God through fellowship, FUN, worship, and serving to community. We're also always looking for youth to help us with Welcoming newcomers, being mentors or tutors, supporting our mission work, or helping with the worship team.
Middle Schoolers, Grades 5-8 - Beginning Friday, March 17th (Bowling) and Sunday April 2nd (Elevated Sportz, with the Sr High), we're starting outings or meetups for games twice a month. 7th and 8th graders (only) wanting "older" content can still come to Sunday Night Youth Group.
Meet at 5:00 p.m. on Sundays (before youth group) in the downstairs music room with Emily to be a part of the musical worship team to lead music in Worship - All youth and ability levels are welcome.
All youth, volunteers, and parents, are invited to our monthly planning meeting of Youth Council. This is where we discuss bigger plans like the Summer 2017 Mission Trip to Guatemala, plan fun outings, and hear about plans in the youth program.
Spend quality time in worship, play, and fun in the snow. Retreats are an awesome way to have fun with your youth group friends. Transportation will be provided, scholarships are available and we always need adult chaperones.Register online at the PNW Convo Website!
This is a parent-led effort to re-imagine the space of the youth hall and make it the best we can. Click here if you want to be added to the planning team.
Lead worship Sunday, June 12!
EUMC's safe-church policy states: No fewer than two adults (unrelated to one another) will be present at all times during any church-sponsored program, event, or ministry involving Children, Youth & Vulnerable Adults (CYVA), including overnight trips, off premises activities or group gatherings. With this ratio of adults to Youth: 5th-8th grades -2 adults for 1st 14 youth (1 for every next 7) and Youth 9th-12th grades - 2 adults for 1st 16 youth (1 for every next 8). And with parental permission, two adults are required to be present when traveling with youth in a car or van.
