The Toy Shop

The Toy Shop is a community outreach ministry that serves families of the Edmonds Food Bank, Washington Kids in Transition, and others in the community during the Christmas season. Those in need are invited to attend a one-day event where volunteers provide hospitality and assist in helping parents to choose gifts for their children. We are expecting to serve between 800-1,000 children at the toy shop this year.

A Giving Tree will reside in the church entrance starting the first week in November. The Giving Tree will have ornaments with information on gift needs for specific ages.

  • After-worship Toy sales – if you don’t have time or just don’t know what to get - find something at the after-worship toy sales held in November outside the Sanctuary in the narthex.
  • Amazon wish list. How easy is this? Place an order and have it shipped to the church. It’s that simple.
  • There are drop-off bins around Edmonds as well at Harbor Square, Gravity Bar, Teri’s Toybox, Pancake Haus, and Walnut Street Coffee house.
  • Each adult shopper is invited in by our youth for cookies and hot chocolate while they wait for a personal shopper to help them select a book for each child, a stuffed animal for each child, then they may choose a bike with a helmet or a new toy for each child as well. There are often “bonus-gives” like play-doh, beanie babies, scarves/gloves in addition to these gifts.  When they finish shopping, they may select a Christmas decoration and wrapping paper with bows as they leave and our boy scout troop helps them take their gifts to their cars with some candy canes. The event is a blessing for all involved.
